NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm

Hey everyone! I recently did a review on YouTube about the NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm I picked up at Walmart not too long ago. These were about $2.99 each where I live and I picked up four colors which are Caramel Apple, Applelicious Pink, Pink Lady, and Apple Blossom. Overall I think these lip balms were really nice for the price.

Top row: Pink Lady (left), Applelicious Pink (right)
Bottom row: Caramel Apple, Apple Blossom

Left to right: Applelicious Pink, Caramel Apple, Apple Blossom, Pink Lady

Pros:

  1. Good Pigmentation
  2. Variety of Colors
  3. Cute Packaging!
  4. Build-able color
However there were a couple cons:
  1. Scent- was a bit perfume like and tasted like it too at times
  2. Texture- The balm is kind of slippery on the lips
Overall I give this product a B+, it was almost an A but the perfume smell/taste on some of these was appealing to me. I don't want to have a lip balm that tastes like perfume but I only had this issue with one or two of them so its not that big of a deal. Check out my video below to learn more about this product!

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

Hey Everyone! Today I'm going to be reviewing a concealer that I recently got by Maybelline. It is the Instant Age Rewind Eraser for Dark Circles. I've been wanting to try this out for a long time now and I was running out of a liquid concealer so I thought now was the perfect time to try this out. To be honest I've had mixed results when using liquid concealers, sometimes they cover my dark circles and sometimes they don't. I feel like they are quicker to use, if that makes sense, so I like to at least have one on hand. The color that I got was Light 120 and I think that it blended really nicely with skin. I have to admit I was a little worried because it looked darker in the tube but I like this shade better than the Fit Me one I'm running low on.
The end is fluffy and soft, it feels like a pom pom!
The right side needed a bit more blending but I think you get the idea.

To sum it up here are the pros and cons for this product:

Pros
  • Blended into skin well
  • Light formula
  • Soft applicator- distributes good amount of product
  • Nice packaging
  • Applicator end claims to have anti-microbial properties
  • Concealed and brightened eye area!
  • Stayed on all day, without setting it with powder!
Cons
  • Applicator end was a little big for my eye area
  • End will get dirty eventually, needs to be maintained
Overall I think I have to go ahead and give this product an A+! I think its a really great product and concealed my dark circles very well! I also loved how it stayed on all day and didn't even crease which is something that's hard for me to find in a concealer. The texture is also very smooth and silky so it goes on really well. Very impressed with this product and I'm glad I tried it! Check out my video review to see the product in action!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Hey Everyone! Here are some more thoughts and pictures of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain sticks that I have. I really love these products and they're great for everyday use! I love how build-able the colors are and how you can get a sheer or bold lip from one product! They also have a lot of color shades available. These retail around $6.99-$7.99 which isn't bad compared to similar products on the market that cost more.

I used coupons so I got mine a little cheaper. The colors I have are Charm, Honey, Cherish, and Lovesick. I can't really point out a favorite however I do really like the natural glow I get from Cherish. The packaging is also really nice on these, I like how travel friendly they are and how I don't have to worry about the cap coming off or anything like that. The colors on the tube of each of these balms are also very true to the color in the tube.

I think they are a really good representation of what you're getting in the tube. As for the texture I these balms go on very smooth and I don't find them particularly drying. I wouldn't say the really moisture your lips but they don't dry them out either. The staying power of these is also very good, they are stains so they do tint your lips even after the balm has been wiped off. Check out my video review to see these products in action!

October Birchbox 2012!

Hey Everyone! I never got around to posting up photos for the October box so here they are in case you want a closer look!
Five samples for this month, and they're all a pretty good size too!

Essie nail polish in Powerclutch, it retails for $8 which almost covers the cost of the whole box.

Everything all lined up together. Not a bad box!

I saw several reviews of this box on Youtube and some people weren't too happy with their boxes for that month but I think I got some pretty good samples. I especially like the nail polish and the body wash from Kiehl's. The only thing I would say I don't like is the Luna bar just because I'm not a big fan but other than that I was happy. See you guys next time!
