On this blog I do recaps of my reviews of makeup products and sometime other things! Check out my Youtube channel for fuller and more in-depth reviews!
Hey everyone! I know its been awhile but school has been really keeping me busy lately! Anyway I recently re-subscribed to Birchbox and I got my first box this month. Birchbox is a monthly subcription that costs $10 a month and I definitely got my money's worth this month. The video of my unboxing got cut off at one point but you guys weren't really missing much so I put a little disclaimer in my video and let it be. All you guys missed was me showing you the plastic baggy that the Chapstick came in. I know some people get upset when they get these baggies but they really aren't part of our samples so I have no problem with them! Below you'll find prices of these products and photos for this month's box. Enjoy! To subscribe click or learn more click here: http://birch.ly/HaVLNc
Bain de Terre macadamia oil Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner- $12 (shampoo) and $13.50 (conditioner)
Hey everyone! Sorry its been so long since I last posted a video but school has been really busy lately. I actually filmed this awhile ago but I never got to posting it. I hope you guys like this review! The price is about 2.99-3.99 depending where you live. The colors I bought were Pink Shock, Oh! Orange, and Strike A Rose. I really liked these and definitely recommend them. Don't be scared of the bright colors either, they really don't show up like that. If you want more coverage or color you can definitely build these up as well. To see a full review check out my video below otherwise sit back and enjoy the swatches.
Hey everyone! I just did a video review on the Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream so please check that out down below! I got this complementary from Influenster test out but you know I'll always be honest with you! It came in my Influenster Sunkissed Vox Box and it retails for $12.99, I got mine in the color fair to light.
Hey everyone, I posted a video on what I got from Kiss Nails and NYC (New York Color) as part of the brand challenge I completed on Influenster.com. I know its a bit late but I wanted to show my gratitude to these companies and show you guys how Influenster works so I wanted to post it any way. I think the video is pretty self explanatory, but I'll list out what I received.
1 Eyeliner from NYC-around $3-4
1 Kiss Nail Dress- around $8
1 Broadway Nails ImPRESS Press On Manicure kit in the color "Call My Agent"- $8-9
I'm really grateful that I was able to win these and eventually test them out! Basically what I had to do was complete certain tasks that Influenster set in order to be entered to win these. That included thing like making a video or blog review, tweeting, and instagramming. If anyone would like to join I still have invites and I'd be happy to invite you! Just leave a comment or message me! I also just want to let you know I updated the links on my YouTube channel page. You can now check me out on Twitter and Instagram! Yay! That's all for now guys!
Hey everyone, I already have a video on my YouTube channel that is linked down below so please check that out! I just wanted to post some photos and add a little bit about these products here as well. Please note that I bought these myself and my opinion is completely honest and my own! I have to say I really love these Color Tattoos, they have a pretty good staying power and are just beautiful colors. I got the colors Sandy Shores, Precious Pearl, and Waves of White.
Sandy Shores is a really pretty yellow that has a green sheen to it when the light hits it. Precious Pearl is more a creamy neutral white and is very shimmery. Waves of White has a blueish hint to it when the light hits it and it is a beautiful white. I tested these out without a primer but I find they work a lot better with a primer so keep that in mind. In the video I was wearing Sandy Shores and I really liked it a lot, it lasted all day and it was just a beautiful color. I found that they stayed put for the majority of the day which is saying a lot for having no primer and it being a hot day. I found these at my local Walmart for $6.99 each but I have also seen them at Walgreens.
Hey everyone! I wanted to make a short post on the Goody Ouchless Ribbon Elastics I received from Influenster. Influenster sent these to me for free so that I could test these out and review them. As always you will only get my honest opinion. If I don't like something I'll tell you. Anyway, enough of that, onto the review! I've probably mentioned this before but I love ribbon elastics and I especially loved these! I love the colors and the fact that they were able to keep my thick hair up. I was also able to match it up with my pink Goody headband (that I've had for awhile now :)) which made a nice combination. These range from $3.99-$4.99 depending on where you live. I've seen these in Walgreens, Target, and Walmart so they shouldn't be too hard to find. I really liked these and I'm glad I got these because these are much better than a regular elastic. Please check out my video down below to see a full review!
Hey everyone! This is my review on the SinfulShine with Gel Tech nail polish by Sinful Colors. The color I received is Nouveau Purple and can be found exclusively at Walgreens for $2.99! This polish has an amazing shine to it and I was so glad I was able to test it out! I already have a video up talking about this product but I thought I'd make a post as well. I have to say that I didn't really like this color when I first got it.
Everyone else seemed to be getting brighter colors that were more appropriate for summer and I kind of felt left out. The more I wore it I found that I actually really like this color and I think it'll be great for fall too! The darkness of this polish was intimidating at first but don't let that stop you from trying it because its really nice. I really glad I got this in my Sunkissed Vox Box! Also I tried this out for a week so the week old nails in my video weren't touched at all and the polish really lasted well.
Pros
Shiny!!!!
Long-lasting
In-expensive
Doesn't chip easily
Good variety of colors
Cons
None!
Final Grade: A+
I recieved this product complementary from Influenster for testing purposes but my opinions are my own. :)
Hey everyone! I'm so excited to say that I finally got my Sunkissed VoxBox from Influenster! Everything I received was complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes but be assured that you will always get my honest opinion no matter what. If you want to learn more about Influenster and their amazing program go ahead and check out my post on it to learn more.
Anyway, enough of that, let's get on to what I got! I received four products to try out which include a pair of Dr. Scholl's For Her Insoles , a Sinful Colors SinfulShine with Gel Tech nailpolish in Nouveau Purple, a BB Cream from Olay, and five ribbon hair ties from Goody. Everyone who was excepted in the program got the same items except the color of nail polish varied. Overall the price of this box was about $30.96 which is really amazing and very generous of Influenster! Below are some photos and my unboxing video. I will definitely be reviewing these soon so look out for those!
Hey everyone! I know its been awhile so I just wanted to make a post about what I've been doing and whats to come! I've been out of school for awhile now and I've been a kind of busy with a couple of things lately. I have some pre-recorded videos that will be posted on my YouTube channel soon, so look out for those, as well as a Vox Box from Influenster that will hopefully be coming sometime soon. I know some other YouTubers have already gotten theirs but I'm restraining myself from watching them because I really want to be surprised. I will be getting the Sunkissed Vox Box so I will definitely be doing a review on that! I just wanted to do a little update and I hope you guys are looking forward to this as much as I am!
Hey everyone! I recently did a review on YouTube about the NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm I picked up at Walmart not too long ago. These were about $2.99 each where I live and I picked up four colors which are Caramel Apple, Applelicious Pink, Pink Lady, and Apple Blossom. Overall I think these lip balms were really nice for the price.
Top row: Pink Lady (left), Applelicious Pink (right) Bottom row: Caramel Apple, Apple Blossom
Left to right: Applelicious Pink, Caramel Apple, Apple Blossom, Pink Lady
Pros:
Good Pigmentation
Variety of Colors
Cute Packaging!
Build-able color
However there were a couple cons:
Scent- was a bit perfume like and tasted like it too at times
Texture- The balm is kind of slippery on the lips
Overall I give this product a B+, it was almost an A but the perfume smell/taste on some of these was appealing to me. I don't want to have a lip balm that tastes like perfume but I only had this issue with one or two of them so its not that big of a deal. Check out my video below to learn more about this product!
I have to say I'm kind of obsessed with these, I love how they glam my nails up! They're very easy to apply, I know it looks like I'm struggling in my video (down below) but it's hard when you have to hold the camera too! But It's really easy and quick to do. I ended up only using two, one on each hand and then painting the rest of my nails in China Glaze's Smoke and Ashes (from the Hunger Games collection) and I must say I like how they turned out! These run for about $6.99 and last around 10 days which is awesome since I can hardly get through a week. Anyway check out my video for more (sorry about the lighting, forgive me!), and thanks to Influenster.com for sending me this awesome product in my Holiday Vox Box! By the way the color is called Chemise ;)
Hey everyone! I'm wrapping up the last of my Influenster Holiday Vox Box reviews and this mask was next up! I have to say I really liked this product and it really made my skin look nice and smooth. I also had enough product left over to 1-2 more uses out of it so that was great for the price. This product is also under $2 according to Influenster so thats another great thing about it too! I've these in Walmart and Walgreens but look around and you may find them at other places too. Overall I'm really glad I got this product and it was just what I needed! Here are some photos but don't forget to check out my video review down below!
I'm almost done with reviewing all of my stuff from my Influenster VoxBox! The next item I reviewed was the Quaker Real Medleys oatmeal in Summer Berry Oatmeal+. I can't really have much gluten however I really wanted to try this out and give it a go and I'm so glad I did. This stuff is tasty! I don't really care for oatmeal but if this was gluten free I would have found my new breakfeast. I was really impressed with how good it was and how easy it was to make. I also liked how portable it was, I think the cup is really cute and the perfect size for traveling. Like always I'll post some photos here but check out my video below to see a full review!
Hey Everyone! I know that this post is a little late but better late than never right? Anyway if you want to see an in-depth review on the Goody QuikStyle Brush that I received from Influenster to test out check out the video below! I think I covered pretty much everything so here are some photos! The cost of this brush is $11-$12.
Hey everyone! I wanted to give you guys some of my thoughts of the EBOOST powder drink that I received in my Influenster Holiday VoxBox! I got the flavor pink lemonade and I was so excited to try this because I think we can all use a energy boost, especially in the winter. Besides increasing your energy this product also contains a lot of vitamins and nutrients for your body. Sounds great right? I have to say that as much as I wanted to, I did not love this product.
The taste is the real downside to this product which is a real shame because the concept is really nice. There's no sugar in the product so when I added it to plain water it did not taste good. It was very sour and almost bitter tasting. It tasted a bit like Alka-Seltzer or mineral water, fizziness included. I guess if you like that taste then you'd like this but I don't so I forced myself to chug it down for testing purposes. As for it's effectiveness, its hard to tell after drinking this once but I'll tell you what I experienced. Not long after I got a bad upset stomach which I can't directly say was from the product since I hadn't been feeling good over the past couple days, BUT it did happen a little after drinking this stuff.
As for energy levels, I did go down and do my exercise and I did feel a little more awake but not jittery or hyper. So it seems like it worked however it may have given me that upset stomach, FYI I have sensitive stomach to begin with. Overall I give this product a D, here's why:
Taste- To me this is one of the main concerns for any drink and I just hated the taste. I had to force myself to finish so I didn't enjoy drinking this.
Effectiveness- Like I said before it's hard to tell or not but I didn't feel that this product produced enough of a result to go out and purchase this or try this again.
Side effects?- I have a very good suspicion that I got that bad stomachache from this so that's why I also gave this product a lower grade. It's suppose to make me feel better, not worse!
Well that's all for now, all I have to say that if that flavor was better I would have enjoyed this product more. Check out my video review below, cause it's kind of funny, and influenster.com to learn more.
Hey Everyone! I wanted to do a quick post about the NYC Liquid Lipshine that I received from Influenster.com in my Holiday VoxBox! I got it in the color Nude York City and I loved this lipgloss! It just had so many good things going for it.
Pros
Inexpensive- costs around $2.49!
Smells great- exactly like cotton candy :)
Not sticky, very smooth and silky
Gives the lips a nice color
Shiny and glossy- can be a con if you don't like that though
Cons
None! Everything was great about this product!
Overall I have nothing bad to say about this lipgloss, I absolutely love it and its been traveling around with me ever since I got it. I definitely need to pick up some more of these because they are great and so is the price! Be sure to check out my video to see how a direct swatch looks and to learn more! Also check out Influenster.com! Annnddd learn more about this product here: http://newyorkcolor.com/ and here: http://www.influenster.com/review/nyc-new-york-color-liquid-lipshine
Hey Everyone! Today I'm going to be reviewing a concealer that I recently got by Maybelline. It is the Instant Age Rewind Eraser for Dark Circles. I've been wanting to try this out for a long time now and I was running out of a liquid concealer so I thought now was the perfect time to try this out. To be honest I've had mixed results when using liquid concealers, sometimes they cover my dark circles and sometimes they don't. I feel like they are quicker to use, if that makes sense, so I like to at least have one on hand. The color that I got was Light 120 and I think that it blended really nicely with skin. I have to admit I was a little worried because it looked darker in the tube but I like this shade better than the Fit Me one I'm running low on.
The end is fluffy and soft, it feels like a pom pom!
The right side needed a bit more blending but I think you get the idea.
To sum it up here are the pros and cons for this product:
Pros
Blended into skin well
Light formula
Soft applicator- distributes good amount of product
Nice packaging
Applicator end claims to have anti-microbial properties
Concealed and brightened eye area!
Stayed on all day, without setting it with powder!
Cons
Applicator end was a little big for my eye area
End will get dirty eventually, needs to be maintained
Overall I think I have to go ahead and give this product an A+! I think its a really great product and concealed my dark circles very well! I also loved how it stayed on all day and didn't even crease which is something that's hard for me to find in a concealer. The texture is also very smooth and silky so it goes on really well. Very impressed with this product and I'm glad I tried it! Check out my video review to see the product in action!
